Most of flyers were using head lamps to only work on their models
and wind similar to this model.

For following the plane flying at 2002 WC we had 3 million
CandlePower Search lamp
http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.CFPage?
mode=article&objectID=29211&cmid=MEPR2_1 It was the brightest that
year. We also had several smaller lamps that were fine for partial
motor tests. By 2004 there were several teams using 3 Million
although it turned out less effective because more lights had been
installed in the mine. The yellowish wide beam it emits was actually
less effective that year than 1 million lamps with its white
light.

We also brought a long a new puppy for 2004 WC a very focused beam
that really light up an F1D next to ceiling. Some other teams would
shut their lights off when our 10 million was in use. The bulb is a
Philips H4 halogen bulb. http://www.thegreenhead.com/cool-
stuff/2005/06/10-million-candlepower-spotlight.php I understand
Costco has it now for $20.00.

The new beast on market is 15 Million Candle Power. There's no
earthly darkness the 80-watt high-powered H4 quartz halogen bulb
(the equivalent of 150 60-watt bulbs) won't penetrate. Costco has 15
million CP, rechargeable, $29.95. http://www.thegreenhead.com/cool-
stuff/2005/10/15-million-candlepower.php

Actually the candle power ratings are over inflated on above search
lights. A true rated and much more powerful search lamp uses the 75
watt Xenon short arc lamp
http://www.bluelinegear.com/maxabeam.htm but the cost is rather
steep.
